Washington’s I-502 system is one of the most mature cannabis markets in the U.S., as the first state to legalize recreational marijuana for adult purchase. While the legal sale and use of smokeable marijuana has existed here since 2012, the recreational beverage industry was much slower to develop. The technology and know-how to extract THC and add it to recreational drinks is a complicated process that involves additional steps and equipment. We were one of the very first companies to produce and sell recreational beverages in the Washington regulated market, and we continue to refine and develop the beverage choices found in recreational dispensaries today. If you are looking to launch a cannabis beverage outside of the Washington I-502 industry, we may be the perfect partner for your brand. Unlike recreational marijuana products that can only be sold under state license by approved dispensaries, the legal hemp industry allows for certain low-dose cannabis drinks to be sold direct to consumers. The federal 2018 Farm Bill legalized hemp for consumption, as long as the THC concentration of the product is less than 0.3% weight by volume. While some states apply different standards within their border, federal law currently permits the production, sale, and use of “hemp beverages” by adults nationwide. We have produced hemp beverages for nationwide brands, including energy “shots”, canned seltzers, and bottled social tonics, in various doses.

The weight of a typical ready-to-drink beverage (often 12 ounces or more) allows for a THC content than may otherwise be expected. This allows us to formulate legal low-dose beverages for brands that wish to distribute outside the state recreational marijuana system. We can assist with regulatory compliance, depending on which states you wish to distribute in, and work only with food-safe ingredients and GMP manufacturing standards. To maintain the highest standards of legal and regulatory compliance, we do not co-manufacture any hemp beverages that exceed 10 milligrams per serving.
